Protection of agricultural products with intellectual property rights

Abstract

The aim of this study is to provide a comprehensive overview about the legal institutions belonging to the intellectual property law, whose essential purpose is to ensure the protection of agricultural products, alongside other similar products. The importance of this topic can be found in the fact, that that the land, as a natural resource, plays a particular importance in the economy of our country. It is important for the economic factors in itself to protect the agricultural land and the agricultural products with appropriate legal guarantees from several directions by the legislator. In thisrespect, geographical indication plays a special role, becauseit also attests the quality of the marked product. The paper overviews the domestic, international and European legal environment regarding to geographical indications.
