Abstract

On November 6, 2025, the Hungarian Hydrological Society (MHT) organized a conference entitled “Water in the Landscape – Climate Adaptation with Conflicts” at the Budapest University of Technology and Economics, at which it urged a broad discussion of professional issues. Since then, at the initiative of the MHT, engineers, natural scientists, economists and humanities scholars have been meeting on a monthly basis to identify the most important questions, conflicts and try to find common answers. The professional background discussions were partly catalyzed by the “Nem víznek való vidék” YouTube channel’s program on water management in the Lower Tisza, and therefore, on the first two occasions, a discussion-starting presentation was given in connection with this.
