Absztrakt

Az ökoszisztéma-szolgáltatások kutatása napjaink egyik legfelkapottabb témájának számít. Sokan úgy vélik, hogy e fogalmon keresztül lehet a döntéshozóknak megmutatni az egyes fajok által képviselt értékeket. A rovarok által nyújtott ökoszisztéma-szolgáltatások kapcsán a legtöbb embernek a háziméh jut eszébe, de a többi nagy rovarrend képviselőinek, közöttük a kétszárnyúaknak (Diptera) a szerepe is jelentős. Ebben a cikkben bemutatásra kerül, miért lehetnek hasznosak az ember számára a legyek és a szúnyogok.
