Abstract
The baseline study examines the economic aspects of sustainable winemaking, with particular emphasis on the application of models that integrate environmental, social, and economic considerations. The authors present a cost-benefit analysis of implementing sustainable practices, explore market opportunities, and discuss the regulatory environment influencing these factors. The research aims to provide guidance—reflecting current realities—to producers and policymakers, helping them understand the approach required for a more environmentally conscious wine sector. The study also serves as a tribute to the author, Sándor Némethy.
