Abstract

Leukemia cutis is a subtype of extramedullary leukemia, characterized by the infiltration of the skin with leukemic cells. It affects approximately 5% of the patients diagnosed with leukemia. The disease may appear in any type of leukemia, at any age, with the same distribution in both sexes. The authors report a case of a 14-year-old girl who presented at the Dermatology Department of Heim Pál National Children’s Institute with livid-erythematous nodules on her face, scalp, and trunk. Clinical and laboratory tests suggested lymphoproliferative disease, which was confirmed with histological and bone marrow examination, and acute myeloid leukemia with skin involvement was proven.
