Treatment of the tear trough deformity with hyaluronic acid – the optimal result

Abstract

Volume replacement of the tear trough deformity by hyaluronic acid is one of the most popular procedures in aesthetic patients. However, the inadequate indication, choice of material or technique, the irrational expectations and over-treatment may lead to unwanted complications and dissatisfaction of the patients. Moreover, they induce protracted corrective procedures. The object of our article is to make the aesthetic doctor’s job easier by providing important knowledge of do’s and don’ts before, during and after this type of procedure.
