Changes of the dermatology department in the last 20 years in the light of the history of the Kaposi Mór Teaching Hospital in Somogy County

Abstract

The history of the Department of Dermatology of Somogy County Kaposi Mór Teaching Hospital is -well-documented and is closely connected to the foundation of the Kaposi Mór Teaching Hospital in Somogy County. The Hospital was named for the memorable dermatologist Mór Kaposi who was born here and attached deeply to Kaposvár. Our hospital, and our department too have witnessed severe bloody events during the centuries, which have left their traces on the structure of the hospital and the patient care. The article summarizes the conditions that had created the grounding for the progression of the consecutive years. We have to pay tribute and acknowledge the efforts and hard work of our predecessors. Difficulies endured by the hospital throughout the decades provide us with a strong sense of belonging, strenght, inspiration and endurance during our daily work. We want to draw inspiration and strength from all of those.
