Impact of the COVID-19 human epidemic on the security of prisons and other penitentiary facilities

Abstract

The aim of my study is to demonstrate the impact of the human pandemic caused by the COVID-19 virus on the security activities of prison service , furthermore the measures, restrictions and amended procedures regarding the prison staff, the prisoners, and those entering the premises of any penitentiary facility. What measures have been put in place to curb the spread of the coronavirus epidemic, how did the Prison Service react to stop the infection after the start of the second wave, to the prevention and elimination of any extraordinary events that may occur due to the imposed restrictions, and furthermore what tools were introduced during the epidemic period. What effects did the technical developments implemented earlier have on the contact of the prisoners with their relatives, contact persons, their transportation and escort to trials, and how were the transportations realized after the termination of the weekly organized collecting transportation. In my study I share the overall impact of the coronavirus pandemic on maintaining the safety of the detention.
