Prison service and the internet: international good practices

Abstract

The use of the internet has become an integral part of our lives, revolutionizing the way we communicate, learn and connect with each other. The conscious use of internet could make everyday life easier not only for civilians, but also for the staff of the prison service and inmates as well. The main objective of our study is to explore the importance of internet in the context of the prison service. Given that the use of the web requires a strictly regulated environment to prevent abuse and new crimes, it is essential that prisons are adequately prepared to promote the safe and ethical use of the web.
