Eugenio Barba–Nicola Savarese: The Secret Art of the Performer – A Dictionary of Theatre Anthropology

Abstract

This volume is an imprint of 25 years of ISTA, including the writings of Barba and Savarese, as well as texts by several members of the research group. The units of the dictionary volume are always linked by the striving for systematization requiring systematic negotiation. Barba and Savarese have created a comprehensive and conceptual collection of writings using historical investigations, principles and methods developed earlier in the field of theatre anthropology, the publication of which in Hungarian is of outstanding importance for theatre anthropological research, the theory and theatrical practice of inter- and transculturality in the 20th century, and for the introduction and canonization of Barba's work in acting education in Hungary.
