Abstract

Psycho-dermato-oncology belongs to the scientific field of psycho-oncology, and also to oncodermatology, and could be defined as the management of psychosocial, emotional and behavioural factors associated with the diagnosis
of skin cancer and its treatment. Among cancer patients, the occurrence of psychological problems (such as anxiety and depression) is typically higher. Distress, in the context of skin cancer and skin cancer treatment, can be caused by
multiple factors and has a significant impact on patients quality of life. Reducing distress is a necessary part and important goal of modern and holistic oncological treatment. Psycho-education for skin cancer patients has been found to be acceptable and effective support in patient adjustment.
