Dermatological aspects of primary psychiatric disorders

Abstract

The field of psychodermatology has received increasing attention because psychological comorbidity associated with skin lesions impairs our patients' quality of life, compliance with dermatological treatment and its success. In
our review, possible classifications of comorbid psychological disorders of high dermatological significance are presented . Furthermore primary psychiatric disorders of relevance to dermatological practice are demonstrated. We describe their clinical picture, epidemiology and comorbidities. Lesions that can be identified as alarming signs are highlighted, This will be carried out along the DSM-5 nosological system, with the alphanumeric codes of ICD-10.
