Abstract

The rapid development of artificial intelligence (AI) applica­tions and the increasing number of domains they have conquered have become an integral part of life at the beginning of the 21st century. These applications are accessible to everyone, and a significant portion of the population actively utilizes them. One of the earliest and most prominent applications is ChatGPT, whose ease of use and sophisticated linguistic capabilities have contributed to its widespread adoption, irrespective of age, gender, or educational background. This paper aims to address, based on a limited sample, the reliability of responses generated by such applications and whether users are aware of potential copyright infringements. The handling of personal data provided during usage and the habits related to reviewing privacy policies also raise important questions. The article discusses the relationship between AI ap­plications and copyright law, evaluates specific questions from a related questionnaire, and identifies possible correlations among them. In conclusion, based on the analysis of the questionnaire results, the authors articulate the relationship between copyright and ChatGPT from the users' perspective.
