Abstract
The global energy crisis and the COVID period have accelerated the growth of demand for renewable energy sources, in which both Hungary and China are committed, although they face different economic and technological challenges. The study, ellaborated in 2024, examines the development of energy relations between Hungary and China, taking into account the global energy crisis and certain aspects of sustainability. The aim of the research is to analyze energy market changes and explore their effects on cooperation between the two countries, with particular attention to renewable energy sources and energy independence. In addition to the opportunities inherent in the energy transition and the development of green technologies, geopo litical and economic challenges affecting energy security are also highlighted. A PESTEL analysis explores the impact of numerous political and economic aspects on energy prices and energy dependency issues, as well as the possibilities for cooperation between the two countries. Furthermore, a case study analyzes the energy structure and economic relations of the two countries.
