Real-time passenger information with the SmartPage e-paper display system
Abstract
A key element of modern public transportation systems is providing accurate and reliable information for passengers. Traditional paper-based schedule boards are static and thus unable to display real-time changes affecting the public transportation system, while digital LED or TFT/LCD displays operate with significant energy consumption and require substantial investment in infrastructure. An energy-efficient passenger information device based on e-paper technology offers a solution to these challenges for operators of public transportation, which has been implemented by the company, HC Linear Kft.
