Fees and Community Contribution

Readers:
There are no fees or charges for readers to access any article published in Apis.
All content is freely available online under a Diamond Open Access model.

Authors:
Apis operates on a community-driven, non-profit basis, where authors, reviewers, and editors collectively sustain the publication process.

The submitting author agrees to contribute to the community by reviewing four (4) future manuscripts within their field of expertise.
This exchange of time and knowledge ensures that publication opportunities remain independent of financial background.

Authors are expected to prepare their manuscripts in accordance with the journal’s formatting and ethical guidelines.
In the final editing stage, only minor corrections are made in the annotated PDF version to minimize editorial workload.

Administrative Contributions
For essential technical and administrative tasks that cannot be covered by volunteer work — such as DOI registration, OJS hosting, and long-term archiving — authors are asked for the following flat, non-refundable contributions:

  • €100 administrative contribution (via credit card or wire transfer) — for general submissions.

  • €300 administrative contribution — for studies directly related to specifically named, commercially available products, where material verification or acquisition costs are involved.

These contributions are not publication fees, not Article Processing Charges (APCs), and have no influence on editorial or peer-review decisions.
They exist solely to maintain the journal’s technical infrastructure and long-term sustainability as a community-based, non-profit initiative.
