About the Journal

Apis is a Diamond Open Access, community-driven and non-profit journal dedicated to advancing scientific knowledge in beekeeping, apitherapy, and pollination ecology.

The journal is published by a civil NGO (Hungarian Apitherapy Society) and operates entirely on a voluntary basis, without governmental, institutional, or corporate funding.

Our mission is to provide an open, ethical, and transparent platform for the dissemination of high-quality research on honey bees (Apis mellifera) and related pollinator species.
We welcome interdisciplinary studies that connect field research, laboratory science, and applied apitherapy practices.

All submissions are subject to a rigorous double-blind peer-review process conducted by independent experts.
Editorial decisions are based solely on scientific merit and relevance.

To sustain essential operational costs — such as DOI registration, hosting, and Open Journal Systems maintenance — authors are asked to contribute a modest administrative fee at the time of submission.
This fee is not a publication charge and does not influence editorial or peer-review decisions.
All accepted articles remain freely accessible to readers worldwide without any subscription or access fees.

Apis upholds the highest standards of editorial independence, research integrity, and community collaboration, ensuring that scientific results remain open to all — freely and without commercial barriers.
