The publishers of Journal of Agricultural and Environmental Law (JAEL) are the Faculty of Law of the University of Miskolc and CEDR – Hungarian Association of Agricultural Law.
Articles received directly from authors
The author retains their moral rights. By expressly accepting these terms, the author grants the following permissions for the submitted article.
From the time the author is notified that the article has been accepted for publication, the author grants both publishers a non-exclusive, geographically unrestricted license, valid for the full term of copyright protection of the work, for:
- the print and electronic publication of the article in JAEL;
- the print and digital reproduction necessary for this purpose, including storage on computers and electronic data carriers;
- the distribution of copies;
- making the article available online, in such a way that readers may access it from a place and at a time individually chosen by them;
- ensuring continuous online availability and long-term archiving.
The license includes the typesetting and technical format conversion necessary for publication. Substantive adaptation or translation of the article requires separate permission.
The author grants the listed publishing uses free of charge and expressly waives any fee due for them. The journal does not charge the author a publication fee for publishing the article.
Public license of the published article
From the time of publication, the author directly grants the public permission to use the article under the terms of the Creative Commons Attribution–NonCommercial–NoDerivatives 4.0 International License, in short CC BY-NC-ND 4.0. The publishers are entitled to display this license statement in the article and on its online article page.
Provided that appropriate credit is given to the author and a link to the license is provided, the license allows the article to be copied and shared for noncommercial purposes. It does not permit the sharing of adapted versions, including translations. It does not restrict uses that are permitted by law without separate permission. A CC permission exercised in accordance with its terms cannot be revoked. This does not constitute a waiver of the author’s moral rights, and it does not preclude the exercise, under the conditions laid down by law, of the rights set out in Sections 11 and 53 of Act LXXVI of 1999 on Copyright, including the related obligations to pay compensation and to provide security.

The author may grant permission only for content for which they hold the necessary rights. In the case of a co-authored work, the consent of all rightholders is required. Third-party content that is not covered by the CC license must be separately identified.
Articles received from the Central European Academy or another rightholder
The legal basis for the publisher use and public license of these articles is determined by a separate agreement concluded with the rightholder. The journal applies the CC BY-NC-ND 4.0 license to these articles where the necessary permission from the rightholder is available. The license applied, and the party granting the public permission, are identified in the information accompanying the article.
These terms do not, in themselves, modify the licensing of articles that have previously been published.
