Nomenclatural validation of Ichthyosaura alpestris bakonyiensis subsp. nov. (Amphibia: Salamandridae) from western Hungary
Abstract
Taxonomic subdivision of Ichthyosaura alpestris (then Triturus) was recognized by Dely in 1964 in his dissertation. While other subspecies were described in other publications, he did not publish the name Triturus alpestris bakonyiensis in valid form according to ICZN. Therefore the nomenclatural validation of this subspecies is given here.
