A gyűlöletbeszéd negatív biztonsági hatásai Nigériában

Absztrakt

A legtöbb konfliktus Nigériában a gyűlöletbeszéd, a marginalizáció és a vallási és etnikai alapon történő megosztottság következménye. A tanulmány a kvalitatív tartalomelemzés segítségével rávilágít a gyűlöletbeszéd eseteire és az ebből fakadó, a nigériai belpolitikára és azország békeműveleti tevékenységére gyakorolt hatásokra. Az eredmények azt mutatják, hogy a média veszélyes szerepet játszik a gyűlöletbeszéd terjesztésében és annak rosszirányúmultiplikátor hatásaiban; az uralkodói elit büntetlenségének látszatát kelti; gátolja a hatékonybűnüldözését, és gyakran oka a nigériai csapatok békefenntartó missziókból való ideigleneskivonásának. A tanulmány ajánlásokat is megfogalmaz arra vonatkozóan, hogy Nigéria hogyan tudná hatékonyan kezelni a gyűlölet-bűncselekmények megelőzése és a jobb konfliktusmegoldásimechanizmusok elérése érdekében a felmerülő problémákat.
