Kihívások és hajtóerők az első magyar blockbuster molekula nemzetközi fejlesztési folyamatában

Abstract

The article overviews the factors in the development process of a medicine - cariprazine - that made it possible for a Hungarian-based company to achieve global success on the international pharmaceutical markets and cariprazine to become a blockbuster product. Its starting point is that global success requires world-class performances in all three interdependent stages of the discovery of the molecule, the development of the various therapeutic indications of the pharmaceutical product, and the market introduction and promotion of the drug also in the development process itself. The details of the pharmacological and medical professional aspects of the development process are not discussed in the article, but they are referred to. Its conclusion is that the basis of the success was the licensing and cooperation agreement with the American Forest Laboratories, and in-depth knowledge and analysis of the pharmaceutical industry environment, as well as effective international collaboration, group flow and creativity overcoming difficulties.
