Hungarians on the track - the role of MÁV-START in international passenger transport
Abstract
MÁV-START has developed a new international offer structure by the year 2022. The main element of this is START Europa offer, which allows direct international connections to 15 countries, not only from Budapest, but also from all Hungarian stations defined as international departure stations. START Europa is a multi-level contingent offer, allowing passengers to buy tickets at a low price and, by being train-bound, to give preference to less used trains through pricing. By creating an online sales facility, passengers can easily buy their international
tickets anywhere. MÁV-START has won the 2022 IT Innovation Award with the START Europa offer and related IT developments.
