On the Narrative Technique and Intertexts of the Fakó foszlányok nagy esők évadján

Keywords: pretext, collective memory, dying consciousness, psychovitalism, biophilosophy, organic sense of nature

Abstract

The first part of the study presents the intertextuality of Mészöly Miklós’s short story, Fakó foszlányok nagy esők évadján disclosed so far as well as the dominant presence of the intertexts in relation to the dying consciousness. According to my hypothesis, the experience of death occasions the crossing of thresholds (between verbal-mental, inner-outer world, life and death). Also, the consciousness-expansion of death causes the activation of the elements of collective memory.

In the second part of the study I compare the corresponding texts of Raoul France’s Az állatok csodálatos világa (chapter title: A halál rovarvilága) against the Fakó foszlányok… Then I describe how France’s biophilosophy and organic sense of nature are recontextualized in Mészöly’s short story.
