Article review: A School Intervention’s Impact on Adolescents’ Health-Related Knowledge and Behavior
Abstract
The study evaluated the impact of a Hungarian school-based health promotion program on adolescents’ health knowledge and behavior. Using a quasi-experimental pre-post design, the program included interactive classroom sessions, teacher training, and community activities. Results showed significant improvement in students’ health knowledge, particularly in nutrition and physical activity. Although behavioral changes were more moderate, physical activity levels and healthy eating habits increased. The findings highlight that comprehensive, community-based school interventions can effectively improve adolescents’ health literacy and support healthier lifestyles.
