From the Critical Raw Materials Marathon data collections 3. Transition metals, alkali earth metals, semimetals

Abstract

This article summarizes the status of some important metalloids and transition metals, as well as two alkaline earth metals, from the group of raw materials classifi ed as critical in the EU. These CRMs are discussed from the perspective of deposit types, global and European reserves. While the goal for the selected metalloids and transition metals is to produce them as metal raw materials, the two alkaline earth metals are required by the economy as non-metallic mineral raw materials – barite, celestine. The article also addresses the knowledge and raw material potential of the discussed CRMs in Hungary.
