Abstract

This thesis examines the technological interdependencies required to meet greenhouse gas (GHG) emission-reduction targets, as defined by EUROFER, within the context of European Union climate policy. It provides an overview of the current technological structure and the associated GHG emission levels. The study analyses technological options for achieving the target emission levels and discusses the challenges associated with their implementation. Finally, it outlines prospective scenarios for ongoing development projects.
