Investigation of vertical sulphur relations using the cumulative sulphur yield principle
Abstract
The classic pig iron production – converter steelmaking metallurgical vertical is a complex steel production unit consisting of several stages. The complex at ISD Dunaferr Zrt. company consists of five production and five desulphurisation units where the sulphur content is passed through different individual desulphurisation steps according to the different metallurgical conditions up to the ladle metallurgical stage where the final sulphur content of the steel is formed. The principle of combined desulphurisation yields allows the rapid determination of the sulphur content of the vertical sub-products and the final product. It also helps in the selection of efficient desulphurisation centres.
