Social integration of students into Hungarian cadet training who studied in civil-ian and in military secondary schools

Abstract

The success of military cadet training and dropout rate are crucial elements of the Hungarian military academy system that derives from the specifics of the given institutional structure. My research is based on the comparative study of two types of freshman military cadets; one group is finished their secondary school in a civilian institution, while the others have their leaving certificate from the Kratochvil Károly Military Secondary School and Dormitory (city of Debrecen). The goal of the study is to reveal the different and identical socialization mechanics and coping strategies of these cadets. The research shows that for the cadets who came from a military secondary school have more inclination to successfully absolve the so-cialization process and with better results.
