History and actualities of the Hybrid warfare

Abstract

The hybrid warfare is the newest product of the 21th century’s military science with controversial approaches. What is identified as hybrid warfare by Western analysts is called strategic deterrence in the Russian literature. The Author has analysed the history of the notion based on the generation warfare theories. Due the appearance of nuclear weapons, a paradox has emerged: the nuclear capabilities have reached a level of destruction when their use becomes irrational. This is the main factor in the emergence of hybrid warfare.
