Abstract

The Warsaw Summit was an important contribution towards the realization of NATO’s collective defense program. The Summit especially dealt with military capabilities and operations, with NATO-Russia relations, Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria, Libya, the Balkans, with the protection of the Alliance's eastern and southern borders, as well as with various partnership initiatives (PfP, MD, ICI, a global partner) and Partner Countries (Georgia, Ukraine, Moldova, Bosnia and Herzegovina). It confirmed the principles adopted in 2011 in Berlin Partnership Policy, objectives and priorities for a more efficient and flexible partnership policy. NATO is ready to cooperate with countries located in any region or continent and international organizations to promote international security and strengthening confidence.
