Abstract
The final outcome of the battle of the coalition forces in Afghanistan, which are deploying an ultra-modern arsenal of weapons, is doubtful, even though they are faced with an enemy, the Taliban, who are fighting with much more modest resources and weapons. This article seeks to understand the reasons why this Central-Asian country is impossible to conquer. The paper focuses on the hesitant period, which has emerged in Washington after General Stanley A. McChrystal’s request for more troops. The basic tone of the article defines nonmilitary solutions and recommendations.
