Abstract
The NATO-Russia Council (NRC) was established after the end ofthe Cold War as a negotiation forum. In the framework of the NRCthe North-Atlantic Alliance and Russia are seeking together for answers to the common threats on the basis of their common interests. This study gives an overview of the developments of the
NATO-Russia relations since 1991, describes the way leading to the establishment of the NRC, characterizes the main goals, tasks and current issues on the agenda of the NRC, and tries to offer some conclusions regarding the future of this forum.
