The legal regulation concerning martial law in Hungary in the Horthy Era

Abstract

The present paper deals with the history of the normative regulation concerning martial law in Hungary in the Horthy Era. The paradigmatic period of the implementation of martial law rules in the history of Hungary was the quarter century of the Horthy Era lasting from 1919 to 1945, therefore, this essay in the followings wishes, concerning the spatial and reasonableness limits, to introduce the history of the criminal law and criminal procedure law regulations related to martial law promulgated or only enacted during this interval. This study's lengthier version comprising the martial law orders during all the 20th century with detailed notes and statutory references can be read in the Internet issue of this periodical.
