Abstract

The safe operation of energetic systems is one of the greatest environmental challenges of the 21. century. Since extraordinary events and harmful effects in these systems often result in cross-country upshots, it is necessary to harmonize and standardize the rules at international level concerning safe operation. The operation of energetic systems is con-sidered to be a highly risky activity, which is regulated by rules of liability that differ from general ones. In the first part of series of article the authors evaluate the international liability regulations connected with environmental damage.
