The role of facilities of flood relief in the prevention of flood damages

Abstract

The most relevant threatening natural phenomenon in Hungary is the flood causing significant burden to the population and economy of protection. Professionals and scientists strive to establish new treatments and provisions that are able to mitigate the possibility of formation and extent of the damages. Nowadays, mostly flood relief programs are underway in order to develop the possibilities of prevention. Due to the lack of experience of application, the usage of these solutions may include risks and questions. In this study the authors provide comprehensive assessment about the flood relief solutions spread in Hungary giving benchmark for the analysis of the advantages, disadvantages and further possibilities aiming the enhancement of safe and efficient application.
