Criteria of the Compliance of the Unmanned Aerial Vehicles Automatic Flight Control System to Type- and Airworthiness Certification

Abstract

The purpose of the author is to highlight some interesting aspects of the procedure of the type worthiness-, and airworthiness certification of the automatic flight control system of the UAV/UAS systems regarding both domestic and international relevant regulations of this topic. From those existing flying and handling qualities defined for manned aircraft author had established a new system of the dynamic performances of the automatic flight control systems to be evaluated for measure of the compliance of the UAV flight control system. Due to lack of regulations in the category of the small UAVs author will formulate a brand-new system of the dynamic performances to evaluate measure of compliance of the UAV to type- and airworthiness requirements. Results of this work could be considered by rulemakers of the authorities both in Hungary, and abroad, too.
