Abstract

After the 11 september 2001 attack, the US president G. Bush declared war on terrorism, which was accepted by the NATO-countries. The host-state of the terrorists was declared as Afganistan. The Iraq war started in March 2003 sith the US and british military forces. The main reason of operations was that Saddam Hussein owns weapons of mass destruction. The author of the essay based his oppinions to four wellknown western writers that the war in Afganistan and in Iraq started not against the terrorists, but for the huge oil-reserves and for the raising of the oil-prices all ower the world. The military forces increasingly being drawn into fightings against the insurgents, in the form of guerilla warfare. The guerilla warfare demands other battle methods and equipments, than the war with regular military forces.
