Abstract

This short article presents a brief overview of the topics discussed in detail in my MTA doctoral dissertation titled “Molecules in Strong External Fields”. My aim here is to provide a general picture of the various research areas for a wide audience interested in molecular processes, highlighting the many fascinating phenomena that arise when molecules interact with strong electromagnetic fields. The article is divided into two thematic parts: the behavior of molecules in laser fields of moderate and high intensity, and the interaction of molecules with the quantized radiation field of microscopic cavities, also known as polaritonic chemistry.
