About the Journal

Dance and Education is a journal of the Hungarian Dance University. It publishes studies on the frontier of dance and social sciences, especially education and psychology, on the following topics:

In the Papers section, we are waiting for publications on empirical research, theoretical studies, and systematic literature reviews (30000-40000 n). In the section Methodology, we will publish methodological descriptions in the field of dance education (20000-25000 n). In the Reflections section, we publish discussion papers and commemorations that can be associated with dance, such as analyses of dance works (15000-25000 n). In the section Review, we are waiting for reviews of important foreign and Hungarian dance pedagogical books (5000-10000 n).

Only original articles that have not been published elsewhere and have not been submitted to another journal may be published in the journal. We accept studies in English and Hungarian evaluated by anonymous reviewers requested by the Editorial Board in a double-blind procedure. The authors may revise their manuscript once based on the reviews of the reviewers, and they will be notified electronically of the results of the review. 

Dance and Education journal is published twice a year online and in print, but manuscripts are accepted only through the online interface, which requires registration and login.

Archiving policy

The journal meets the criteria for diamond open access, so no fees are charged for publication or access. All content is freely available without charge to the user or his/her institution. Users are allowed to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of the articles or use them for any other lawful purpose without asking prior permission from the publisher or the author. This is in accordance with the BOAI definition of open access. The authors do not pay or receive any fees for the publication. Publications must be cited in accordance with the citation standards when partial or full use occurs. The archived content can be found in the REAL-J Repository and in the Matarka database. The full articles of the journal are also available in the EBSCO International Bibliography of Theater and DanceDOAJ, and ERIH PLUS databases.

Copyright statement

The authors shall retain the copyrights but give the right of first publication over to the journal.

The journal does not charge a "publication fee," an Article Processing Charge.
