A Comprehensive Review of János Fügedi's Latest Book Titled Signs of Dance

Abstract

János Fügedi is an internationally recognized user, developer, and educator of Laban kinetography. His latest independent work is the book mentioned in the title, published in English, which I will introduce to the reader in this review. After a brief overview of the author's biography, I will discuss the book’s background and outline its structure. In my review, I will draw attention to the innovations in relation to the domestic dance notation practice and present the book's substantial annotated appendices. Finally, I will conclude by specifying exactly the audience to whom I would recommend this book.
