Extreme weather situations endangering the electricity supply - storm cyclones

Abstract

Modern society in the 21st century is extremely sensitive to the damages to the infrastructure, including the damages to electicity supply and transport. Extreme weather situations in Hungary pose a threat to these two areas. The subject of this article are storm cyclones that can occur any time of the year, causing severe malfunctions mainly in large areas with very strong winds.
