The importance of health protection of USAR team members from CBRN effects during disaster relief

Abstract

The threat level of chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear (CBRN) contamination as a result of calamities is increasing nowadays. The explanation of this trend is related not only to the wide spread of chemical, biological and radiological industries, but also to the broaden possibilities of deliberate usage of chemical, biological and radiological materials as a weapons. The adequate and appropriate protection of the USAR-teams in case of CBRN event is of utmost importance for the medical support to the affected population. The aim of this article is to represent the importance the of CBRN event`s dagaming effects on mankind and enviroment during escalating disasters, furthermore how USAR-team members can be able to handle  these situations and by what kind of means can be used to prevent some of its effects during disaster relief.
