The task system of defense and security administration on the territorial level of public administration

Abstract

Over the past decades, Hungary, as well as the field of defence and security administration, has been characterised by new challenges in the security environment, unexpected events, new types of and previously unexperienced extraordinary situations, and by the responses required to address the tasks arising in connection with them. These developments have indicated, within the field, the need to amend the regulatory framework and to further develop and transform the system of governance and cooperative activities. In the management of extraordinary situations, the involvement of public administration has also been significant, both at governmental and at regional and local levels. In the course of their activities, the regional and local defence committees relied to a large extent on the human, technical and logistical resources of partner bodies and government offices.
