Article review: The historical development of the integration of health and social care

Abstract

This overview provides a comprehensive yet easy-to-understand presentation of the historical development of the integration of health and social care, from a holistic view of health to modern approaches tailored to individuals and communities. The authors of the original article examine the theoretical foundations and practical implementation of integration from the perspective of several disciplines, including medicine, social policy, economics, and psychology. The historical overview clearly shows that integration is not only a professional issue, but also a social and ethical one.
