Preview of issue 2026/1 – New design, same mission

Abstract

What does the new issue offer? The first issue of MEJ this year focuses on both systemic challenges in public health and the dilemmas of practical interventions – from local municipal planning to global policy trends. In a case study, we show how a district public health program can be planned taking into account real needs and capacity constraints, while our opinion piece seeks to answer the question: prevention or care – where should the focus of local health strategies lie? A critical analysis of “prescribing” physical activity further nuances the possibilities and limitations of a physician-centered approach to prevention.
