Hungarian Community Health Planning on New Ways
Abstract
Community health planning is a cyclic procedure which consists of six steps. At the beginning, as a part of the first cycle, a Community Health Managing Office (CHMO) and a Health Planning Community Board (representing all stakeholders in health and non-health sector) is established. In the first step of each cycle, the circumstances of planning is evaluated and the collection and analysis of primary and secondary data is performed by the CHMO. In the next step, health problems identified by the situationanalysis are listed and ranked in the Community Health Report. After this stage, in the third step, the possible interventions confirmed to be effective are selected. Using these interventions the Action Plan is developed and is presented to the Health Planning Community Board. Based on the Board’s opinion, the Action Plan is finalized and then implemented by the organizations and individuals of the community. Their activity is coordinated by the CHMO. The sixth step is the monitoring of the planning andthe implementation. The findings of the monitoring can be used to modify the actions due to unpredictable events and to perform the situation analysis in the cycle. Community members and their representatives are necessary to be involved in each step of community health planning.
