Abstract

The role of organic agriculture and organic products has become increasingly important in recent decades.
Because of significant number of people, social inequalities, distribution disparities between continents and countries, food shortages in some countries, and food overproduction in other countries, the role of health has risen mainly in welfare states. On the other hand, an increasing degree of environmental pollution has drawn attention to the need to awaken, because if we do not change our attitudes, our grandchildren will soon not see what we can see. Over the last decades, however, the spread of organic products in the North American and European continents has accelerated and nowadays not the most decisive but significant role in food markets. Based on the study, we can see that the high and expected growth could only be fulfilled in the welfare markets, and Hungary was unable to stabilize this increase. This is mainly due to the solvency of consumers and their willingness to consume. It is well known that our pursuit of health in Hungary is based on belief systems whose scientific reality is questionable. Indeed, in many cases, the reality of this is denied in several places. The young people interviewed do not yet deal with their health, they do not have problems, so they can not say it would be an important motivation factor for them. Although literature research suggests that one of the most important factors in the consumption of organic products among the elderly population is health
protection and restoration of health. There is a need for adequate information to the general public and consumers, the reduction of organic products and the establishment of sales channels.
