Abstract

Since May 2018, the Sellye Health Promotion Office has organized and conducted many individual, group and community programs. Over the years, some of these have been clearly successful, while others have proven to be less effective. In our publication, we present two of these programs in detail. The ‘beginner’ group of the fitness center was successful in reaching the male target group and the program had very good retention. The Hiking Club started out as a popular program with a large number of participants, but after the initial success, interest steadily declined. Health promotion offices have limited financial and human resource capacities. In the case of regularly implemented programs, it is particularly important to pay attention to the recruitment of participants as well as their retention and the reduction of dropouts.
