The hundredth anniversary of the publication of Dr. Hugo BÖCKH's Geology and Stratigraphy, Volume II
Abstract
The second volume of Dr. Hugo BÖCKH's Geology and Stratigraphy was published primarily for college students.
However, it was not only intended for future mining engineers but also for those interested in palaeontology and
stratigraphy. A vast and many-sided display of knowledge is to be found in the book.
While dealing with separate geological periods, the author demonstrates and intensifies the existing knowledge with
many highly relevant Hungarian examples.
The carefully and richly selected illustrations demonstrate well the essence of the book. The book represents an
excellent insight into knowledge that was "state of the art" at the beginning of the last century.
