SITUATION AND CHALLENGES OF TEMPORARY AGENCY WORK IN HUNGARY

Abstract

Over the last decades, the labour market is undergoing transformation, resulting new demand for both the demand and supply side. It is difficult to adapt to the accelerated changes in the market for many employers, so labour flexibility is very important. In my publication I am dealing with the temporary agency work, a special employment form, which can be a solution for the quick handling of temporary problems for employers. 

The judgement about the temporary agency work hectically changed, but unanimous acceptance and support cannot yet be discussed. Nonetheless, temporary agency work is nowadays used to hire a highly skilled workforce for a short period of time (e.g. reorganization, crisis management and project) and to perform trained tasks (e.g. serving their dumping orders) with the use of lower skilled workers.

Based on the Hungarian legislation in force, the available national register of temporary agency work agencies and private recruitment agencies is closely linked to the work of the National Employment Service, so I have prepared the data needed to analyse the current situation of the temporary agency work by using the database of this organization.
